Local Food...

What are the local or traditional Czech dishes we can miss on our up coming holiday in Prague?

You can miss out on this one: reznictvi-kadlcek.cz/img/1-tlacenka-veprova_… - chopped up pig%26#39;s ears and snout in jelly served with vinegar and onions on brown bread. Tlačenka. Give it a wide berth :)

On the other hand, tripe soup (dršťková polévka) is surprisingly palatable.

Roast pork knee, a little fatty but very tasty

http://www.umedvidku.cz/ - try this place, slightly touristy but mainly Czech food some of it I don%26#39;t even know what it means eg Staročeské strapačky !

It%26#39;s actually a very good question to ask (the original one) - makes a change from the usual :)

Ok, in that spirit, a restaurant to MISS :

Mystic Café/Pizzeria on the stairs Radnické Schody to Castle area. I think this one is the no.1 rip-off restaurant in the whole Prague. Check the reviews here.

I%26#39;ve always avoided restaurants where smazeny syr (fried cheese) costs more than 160Kc, these days not many places left :)
