We are planning a river cruise that begins in Prague, and would like to see Munich and Berlin before getting to Prague. We are traveling from Canada. I am trying to figure out time needed, and how to easily get from one place to another. What is the best mode of transportation in doing this triangle?
Thank you

You are not saying which airline you would use to get to Europe %26amp; exactly to which city. Normally, the trains are your best bet. Fly to Munich, then take a train to Berlin, then to Prague for your cruise. If you fly with Lufthansa, then you can get add on fares, or open jaw. I think you need to let people know:
How many days you have...
Cruise details, flight details..
What you want to see.
Prague is not as spread out as Berlin, so you can walk from one site to another - or take the metro, tram or bus. Why do you have to see the 2 places before the cruise?

Our plan is to take a Danube River cruise at the end of September - next year. It starts in Prague and ends in Budapest, so, it seems like the best idea to do the land portion before Prague. We will be flying on Air Canada from Toronto. We think that about seven days to see the three places would give us a taste of each place.
thanks for your reply

I assume that you%26#39;ll be flying from YYZ to FRA. In that case trains would probably be the best. You can buy a ticket FRA to MCH to BER to PRG. Compare the cost of ordinary tkts with German Pass for, let%26#39;s say 5days of travel out of 17, German Rail should let you know what is the better deal, I think that you can still break the journey onroute (get off %26amp; on) %26amp; see interesting places such as Dresden..
I would also post a similar question on the German Forum. Everything depends on number of days you have. By the way, Budapest is quite compact %26amp; really beautiful. Vienna is also closeby - many buses run between the 2 cities; trains too, but in this case, buses seem to be better. I am off to Toronto for 4 days tomorrow. It seems to be raining quite a bit this week

I presume your Danube river cruise will not start in Prague anyway as the Danube doesn%26#39;t flow anywhere near Prague - this will presumably start in Nuremburg, or somewhere in Germany - they will bus you there.

Yes, it starts in Nurenburg. I think we will fly directly to Munich, then to Berlin as we are allowed one stopover are part of the cost of the flight and drive from Berlin to Prague. Or, should we go book to Berlin, changing planes in Munich/Frankfort, then to Munich and Prague by train or car.. With the car rental there might be a one way drop off so I will have to check that out.
Thanks so much, you are very helpful.

Don%26#39;t bother with a car - it will be more trouble than it is worth, and also expensive. The train is very cheap and comfortable in comparison between these cities
Berlin - Prague from €19 www.db.de
Prague - Munich c. €20 each - buy tickets on the day
Prague - Nuremburg €29 https:/… (it is actually a bus, but it is treated as a train)
You might be fitting too much in - e.g. Munich and Berlin are very far from each other. I would take a look at a map and see where the places are, and then bear in mind that you will see quite a bit from the boat.

We are taking an AMA River cruise in Nov. and will need to get from Prague to Nuremberg on Nov.23. Is it easy to arrange for a bus once you arrive in Prague? Approx. how much?
Thanks,
