Getting from Budapest to Prague?

Hi,

What is the cheapest way to get from Budapest to Prague? Is it better to fly or take a train and how much should we expect to pay? Should I buy tickets from the U.S. before I leave or get them once I arrive in Budapest?

Thanks!

The Orangeways bus leaves at 07.00 arrives at Florenc bus station around 13.30.

Book it early on line to get the price below,it stops once at Bratislava so you can stretch your legs, they show a video and serve coffee.

4,800.00 HUF about $25, take the blue line (metro 3) destination kobanya kispest, get off at Nepliget, or if you book early you could get the train for 25 euro however, it takes slightly longer and does not get you into Prague untill the evening unless you take the night train.

we took the train. i don%26#39;t remember how much it was exactly, but less than 100USD/person. we bought our tickets in Budapest about a week before we left. the only difficulty was realizing the departing trains on the board were listed by their final destination without any mention of stops.

The student agency bus leaves Budapest at 9.15am arriving in Prague at 5pm. It%26#39;s €20 single or €37 return. It%26#39;s also the most comfortable way to travel, with frequent stops for bathroom breaks, free coffees, free newspapers and magazines, and earphones provided free of charge to watch the film or listen to the radio. You can buy tickets in advance on their website studentagencybus.com/en/…20BUDAPEST or at the bus station, or if they aren%26#39;t fully booked you can pay as you get on!

If you do take the bus, be prepared. There are actually two bus stations across the street from each other at the Nepliget intersection in Budapest. There%26#39;s a big one that apparently serves only Hungarian destinations. Then there%26#39;s one across the street that says it%26#39;s the International Terminal, which is where Orangeways departs from. If you take Student Agency, well, I don%26#39;t which terminal they use in Budapest. We took the Student Agency bus from Prague to Budapest, and the driver just dropped us off on a corner about 1/2 block from either of these two terminals. So, get to the correct terminal and be ready to run under the highway to the other one, depending on which bus line you take.

Well if you take the Metro there are big orange signs with Orangeways written on them, on the walls and the floor pointing to where to go,kinda hard to miss he he.

When you exit the Metro it is right in front of you.
