Abstruct: never get on 2-hour boat tours by Evropska Vodni Doprava (EVD) company
On September 18, 2009 we decide to take a boat tour on Vltava river to see all wonders of the great city from the water.
From a leaflet we got at the Charles Bridge, we learned about one- and two- hour boat trips ran by Evropska Vodni Doprava (EVD) company. The boats start under the Chechov Bridge (second downstream from the Cahrles bridge) with hourly tours seven times a day and a 2-hour tour only once, at 3 pm. The 1-hour tours comes with guiding narration but we decided to get a 2-hour one for better decription and more details. Imagine our frustration when we discovered that there is no one to explain and that there is no even a trip guide or a map available. The only people accessible to talk were resturant servants with bad English which served alcohol and soft drinks at high price.
After the tour, I came to the company administrators at the ticket office for explanations. However, this company is stil under the spell of communist-era standards and still lacks the western standard of service. Instead of full refund or free tickets for a 1-hour narrated tour, I received only a dozen of %26#39;We apologise%26#39; in poor English.
I sugggest to anyone who values time, never take Evropska Vodni Doprava (EVD) company.
