We are going to Prague later this month. Can anyone tell me if you have to request non smoking rooms or are they all non smoking like the uk?
Also with regard to the walking. Will comfy boots with justa medium heel be ok or is it really necessary to wear flat shoes or trainers (love my heels)
Thanks-also never been before any other tips welcome

Hi Janeyd Croeso to the Prague forums.
There are still alot of hotels that you can request a smoking room so I would suggest you contact the hotel prior to your arrival.
I find wedge heel boots to be the best to walk around in they give you the height we ladies need and are safer than heels! With so much walking involved visiting Prague you need something comfy and heels are not really suitable for walking the cobbles if you are not used to them ,you may find your calf muscles ache if you do wear heels ,keep them for the evening when not so much walking is involved.

They do not have the draconian smoking laws we do, you will be albe to smoke in your room just stipulate a smoking room when you book.
They have a really good public transport system but i found it easier and more plesant to walk most of the time, why don%26#39;t you save the heels for going out at night.

But not all areas of the hotels are smoking, in many places it is restricted to certain bars, places, but nothing like in England as yet.

The hotel I was in in May had no smoking floor, and looking at hotel sites for my next trip many of them do offer smoking and non smoking rooms.
As for footwear, during the day wear the sturdiest shoes you can ,you feet will thank you for it.
Prague has the most unusual cobbled pavements I have seen anywhere, all about 2 inches square and they really take a toll on your feet.I do a lot of walking all the time but Prague is the only place that gives me really sore feet.
Keep the heels for very short walks at night.
