Hi there. I posted last week about possibly driving into Prague as part of a European driving trip next Summer. Anyway, we%26#39;ve scrapped that plan and have decided to fly to Prague and stay for 4 nights in October. We%26#39;ll be travelling with a 6yo, 3yo and an 8 month old.
I am wondering what the law is regarding children and infants travelling in taxis and buses to transfer from the airport to hotel though?
I know in the UK children don%26#39;t have to have carseats on buses and in taxis, and some taxis provide them. Otherwise, will we have to bring them with us? (I really don%26#39;t want to do that!)
Any advice please?

In accordance to Czech law, children are obliged to use car seats. Please inform us when making the reservation if children are being transported so that we may provide the appropriate seating (free of charge).

Brilliant. Thank you!

ARE YOU BRINGING CHILDREN?
Children under 150cm and weighing less than 36kg must have a child seat so please let us know their age and weight. Apart from the safety issues the penalties are very severe so if you show up with a child and we were not warned
we will not be able to take you
Children under the age of 12 must ride in the back.

correct me if I am wrong, praguepivo, but I think that a normal taxi (rather than shuttle) is exempt from child seat requirement, much like in Belgium or the UK?

DISCLAIMER I own www.prague-airport-shuttle.com
Let me say, first of all, I would never put my child in a car without a child seat, especially a Prague airport taxi. Those of you who live here have seen how they drive and will understand.
Perhaps a taxi is exempt, maybe, as we are licensed by the Czech government as a transporter, we are exempt too but we will not make exceptions. Everyone who works with me has little kids and we would not even consider driving without the little terrors strapped in!
Here is some law in Czech

thanks praguepivo

there is no excepmt for taxi at all, even for your cargo and occasional public transport licenses.
excemtions are just for group transport to/from school. This is the law and this will not change even if you ask for deleting my post again.
read the real law at proper pages like czech parliament (www.psp.cz)

Heebicka I think you should get rid of your aggressive manner then perhaps TA would not delete your posts, they are not deleted for no reason and it takes more than one person to report a post, you have not been a member of TA for long and this is not the way to answer on posts, this is a happy forum and most of us have been here for many years so lets keep it that way.
