There are 3 of us on a guys trip that will be staying near the old town in mid October. We are looking for high quality but low to mid priced restaurants that serve good examples of Czech food. We are also looking for local pubs within a reasonable walking distance of Stare Mesto and Nove Mesto where we can soak up the flavor of Czech pubs without all the tourists and high beer prices.
Can anyone recommend a few restaurants and bars/pubs that fit this category?
Also in my Prague guide book I see a few places listed that look interesting...does anyone have positive or negative comments on these?:
Pivnice u Pivmce
U Medvidku
U Radnice
Bredovsky Dvur
Jama
Thanks!!!

this is a list of pubs, beerhalls and micro breweries in this city, most serve very good food as well.
U medvidku is a favourite place of mine and dies great food ,the beer there is also excellent, make your way right through the back and upstair to the Oldgott micro brewery and get a beer yards yards from where it was produced.
have a look at these links ,both trip reports of mine one from over 3 years ago and one from May this year, hopefully they will give you some ideas.

hi,
we always take in the jama pub/restaurant when in prague but it is not cheap compared to local czech bars, its nice for an hour or so but then you should move around,
you might like the hard rock cafe just left at the end of weceslas square, bit cheaper than jama and open 24hrs.
another favourite of ours is sherlock bar

A favorite place of mine is

No Stress is on the expensive side -- they asked for low to mid price.
Jama is not really a Czech pub -- the menu is more American style.
U medvidku is probably the best bet. Bredovsky Dvur is OK but prices are higher than average Czech pub, it gets crowded and service can be rough.
