hi i will be in prague very soon but i am staying just outside at the hotel panorama,i think it is a couple of stops to the centre, on the metro,i intend to go to some of the jazz clubs in the evening which are in the centre,i was wondering if its safe to take the metro home at night i know they close at midnight,the other option is a taxi but ive hered they rip you off

I have travelled on the Metro many times over the years I have visited Prague and never had a problem at any time including in the very late evening.

yes the metro is safer than a taxi ,prague is a relatively safe city ,pickpockets being the main problem..
|||
There is night bus 504 which goes from Masarykovo nádraží and the main station every half an hour or so to Pankrác (close to the Corinthia Towers).
Don%26#39;t worry what people may say about safety around those stations - Czechs think they are dodgy but by British standards it is utterly safe - the standards are very high :) I wouldn%26#39;t think twice about it. Your only %26#39;danger%26#39; is not getting off at the right stop, but just keep your eye out and you%26#39;ll be fine.
Don%26#39;t get a taxi!

metro is safe
tax is not a rip off with reliable company

Get the metro into town but get a taxi back ,find the number of a reputable firm and get them to pick you up from wherever you end up.
Prehaps Heebicka could give you the name of a good reliable company.
