What a Mess!!!!!!

I booked with Wizzair to go from Liverpool to Prague on 5th November to 10th Nov. Have booked our apartment and oaid for Airport. Got an email today from Wizzair cancelling our flights on 5th and saying we can go on 3rd Nov but its for a week, or keep the 5th Nov flights but fly from London (we live in Yorkshire)!!!! what a nightmare. I had bad feelings booking this airline in the first place. Can anybody tell me what we do now as if we journey to London this reasonable holiday is going to turn into an expensive trip dont even know if we can get apts changed. I could cry, what a mess. Plus are we going to lose what we have paid for airport parking.

Have you read through all the small print on the cancellation notice? It may be an idea to call them directly and ask. It is never nice when this happens, but other airlines, especially budget ones, do this quite regularly and I have also been a victim - I am lucky in that I can be quite flexible, but in your case it is no good.



Your parking should be OK - I don%26#39;t think you actually pay for that until you use it (at least that was the case last time I flew through Liverpool with easyjet).





I know it is no consolation, but that annoying button %26#39;do you want flight insurance?%26#39; sometimes comes in useful...

I had the same problems with Czech airlines everything booked and paid for for December,they canceled my flights and offered me October instead!!!!!..I have had a hard job getting my money back but have managed it with help from the folk on the Airline forum they even tried to keep the service charge ,I told them as I had not canceled they could not do that ,finaly got it back after what seemed like hundreds of emails .Sorry I cant offer you anything except comfort in the feeling you are not alone.

Hey, I work for a Travel Agent (am at work now!) and in such cases the Airline should offer you an alternative - which the have - or they should be offering you a full refund (probably minus credit card fee%26#39;s unfortunately). As they are low cost they have no real other legal options to offer you i.e. if it was BA they would have to rebook on other airlines etc although this is not always the case even with the big Carriers. Its probably a flight rescheduling that has caused this chaos as it did with me when travelling with RyanAir on my stag do.





I wouldn%26#39;t worry re your car parking, as has been mentioned i%26#39;m sure thats refundable.





My advice look at other low cost carriers from alternative airports first, gauge their availability. Then i would call the airline to see if they would be willing to refund you as the alternatives are not suitable. Worse comes to worse, fly from London (i was supposed to fly from Stansted but had to drive to Birmingham!).

Which I did along with all corespondence and they said they would act on my behalf ,but in the end I managed on my own

How about taking the flights on the 3rd and staying in one of the budget hotels on the outskirts for 2 days, £25 - £30 per room, per night, its only for 2 nights then move to your apartment.

Wizzair have offered me alternative flight 17-21nov from Liverpool, lose a day but nothing I can do about it, or a full refund Just waiting to see if aprts dates can be changed. I have to contact Wizzair and let them, kmow by phone what a swixx 65p minuet!!!!!! So things are looking better if not perfect.

If you have Talk Talk (and therefore can make free calls to the Czech Republic), call this number +420 246 019 709 and do it that way - ignore the bit at the beginning where there is a lady telling you the instructions in Czech with a very strong Hungarian accent, and just wait until an operator picks it up. They should soon find you an English operator. I just tried it :)
