Hi,
I%26#39;m booking tickets for the National Theatre the beginning of October. Tickets seem to be selling fast. Just wondering what are the best seats there? I%26#39;ve never been before. There is a drama and opera to choose from also. Any recommendations on which is better?
Thanks for your help!

I would go for the opera if you can%26#39;t speak Czech. All the seats are good - but everyone has their own preferences. If you want to go in the stalls then don%26#39;t go right at the front or you will be craning your neck and you won%26#39;t see to the back.
Just mind the dress code.

I saw Carmen there in Sept of 2007. We had a box to the left of the stage and loved it. Going back this year and got tickets again for Carmen (my favorite) and was not able to get a box. We have eats on row 16 but in the middle. The 2007 performance was one of the best ever.
Enjoy your time in Prague!

GalwayGal9....When you suggest the opera, I assume that this means
The State Opera....Are the %26quot;stalls%26quot; another name for standing room and, if so, are those spots available the day of the performance?...I did not see any mention of standing room on the website...Dress code???
Thanks...Stan

stalls are seats

Dress code has been covered extensively in this forum - the website for the State Opera says:%26#39;Formal dress is highly recommended (a suit for gentlemen, an evening dress for ladies).%26#39; The same is true for the National Theatre.
Also a lot more info here tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g190454-i147-k2949…
You don%26#39;t need to bring a tuxedo, but some smart gear is a must if you don%26#39;t want to stand out like a sore thumb.

Thanks for your advice, I booked Carmen. Got seats in Balkon II, third row, kind of in the middle. I%26#39;m picking the tickets up there and paying for them with cash (I didnt realise I was reserving them). I can still pay with credit card when I get there I presume? Thanks again!

I%26#39;m sure you can - or you could have just paid for them there and then through the National Theatre website. Good choice - it%26#39;s an epic!

The National Theater%26#39;s booking Web site (Ticketportal.cz) doesn%26#39;t work well. I, too, found myself unexpectedly reserving tickets for pickup by an impossibly early date instead of paying for them by Visa and printing them at home as I thought I had selected.
Since the reserved seats then no longer appeared available for sale, I went to Bohemiaticket.cz and bought comparable seats for which to print tickets at home, for only a few dollars more.

Can I ask, how did you know what time to collect them? I checked my reservation and it doesnt say a time to collect them. It does have some writing in Czech but I think its just the location.

Can you send what it says on your reservation?
