Danube River Cruise

My husband and I are considering booking the 12 day Avalon cruise on the Tapestry(%26quot;The Legendary Danube%26quot;). It is the last cruise of the year, Oct. 28th. We are concerned about going so late in the season. What is it like to cruise that time of the year? How did you like the boat? food? service? Also should we pay $500 pp more for a room on the middle or upper floor instead of saving money on the lower level? Thanks for any input.

It might just be on the wrong forum - try posting on Vienna, Belgrade, Budapest, or somewhere else that actually lies on that river :)

For what it%26#39;s worth - $500 is $500 more than I would pay, but you would get a much better view from upstairs, rather than a view of the murky water on the bottom deck (don%26#39;t expect it to be blue!)

Hi to all,

This topic was reported as being published in the wrong forum, so I did a quick Google search to determine which destination forum was more appropriate. According to this page (and several others), the cruise departs from Prague:

www.avalonwaterways.com/product.aspx…

Sorry to marniecVirginia, I don%26#39;t have any pertinent information to offer about the cruise, but my message will bump your topic back up to the top of the list, where other users may see it and possibly offer you some advice.

Best regards,

Jane

The bit about the boat is irrelevant to Prague, as you will go by bus to Nuremburg for the start of the boat tour (obviously as Prague does not lie on the Danube).

If you do a quick search on Avalon, either on this forum or on the Nuremburg forum, there might be more information.
