first visit over new year

HI,

we%26#39;ve booked a 3 day trip, staying at the Ibis Old Town hotel from 31st Dec to 3rd Jan. How would I get from the airport to the hotel using public transport please? Remember it%26#39;s our first visit to Prague, so as well as being told what bus/tram etc to board, I%26#39;ll need advice on how to pay and embark/disembark e.g. Will I need to speak to a driver/conductor. I%26#39;m a bit worried as I don%26#39;t speak the language.

Also roughly how long will the journey take?

Thanks for any advice

As a starter, you can check the following page if you have not done it.

Also you can check your hotel%26#39;s web site for access, etc.

Gva,

waw! thanks for that link. I hadn%26#39;t read it. Plenty to keep me occupied this evening. I%26#39;m sure I%26#39;ll have some more questions before I go.

Thanks again.

No problem. Happy travel planning !

I%26#39;m planning my clothing now. I%26#39;ll be taking jeans, boots and lots of layers for the day but I%26#39;m not sure what to wear for New Years Eve. I would like to dress quite smartly but I%26#39;m worried that if I wear my usual short sleeved tops with trousers that I%26#39;ll freeze, eventhough I%26#39;ll obviously be wearing a coat to walk from place to place. On the other hand if I wear my thermals and a jumper, apart from feeling underdressed for the occasion, won%26#39;t I be too hot inside the pubs. What do most people wear on a special night out in Prague at this time of year?

Any advice please?

I honestly don%26#39;t think anyone%26#39;s going to bat an eyelid at what you are going to wear :) Of course it all depends on the weather, and then wear what you feel comfortable in. Best to wear layers, though, or a single very warm coat. It can get very stuffy (and smoky) inside the pubs on winter evenings, New Year no exception.
