How to book train ticket from Bratislava to Kosice, Slovakia

We are trying to travel from Salzburg via Bratislava to Kosice in Slovakia and can not seem to be able to book train tickets in advance on the slovak train websites. Does anyone know how to book tickets for Slovak trains (Bratislava - Kosice in particularin advance?

Bratislava is in Slovakia, not Czech Republic. You can buy your ticket on the below website, but I think you need to speak Slovak to do that. I don%26#39;t think you can buy it in the %26#39;English%26#39;option. Try to post your question on Slovakia, or Bratislava forum.

Seeing as you are here ...

You also have to book a ticket from the country in which the journey commences, i.e. Austria in this case.

This ticket is not available on-line as a whole, but you can buy a ticket from Salzburg to Vienna on-line or on the day of travel - it makes absolutely no difference in price, but is much easier on the day, which costs €48, and then from Vienna you can get a SparScheine ticket to Košice here oebb.at/pv/…index.jsp in advance costing €29. You won%26#39;t be able to break your journey in Bratislava this way, but honestly you wouldn%26#39;t be missing much, or if you wanted to go there then just buy a Euroregio ticket to Bratislava from Vienna on the day which costs €14 - it is just a local train and they go hourly. From Bratislava to Košice you just buy the ticket on the day as you normally would - no need to reserve. You CAN theoretically buy it online, but it is fiddly and it is a lot easier just to buy it at the station. It costs c. 18 Euros, and the trains are very regular - try to get an IC (Intercity) train, as they are faster and more comfortable. Also try to sit on the left side of the train facing travel - the views when going through the Tatra mountains are wonderful if it is a clear day.

For all times and price see http://cp.atlas.sk/vlakbus/spojenie/ (English button bottom tight)
