Prague in early December

Hi

My wife and I are going to Prague in early December.

What is the city like at that time of year?

What things are open and what is closed. Are there any Christmans markets?

What weather can we expect?

I have the same questions. My husband will be attending a conference and I will be on my own. We will be there the second week in December. Any advice?

|||

The bigest Xmas market is in the Old Town Square, lot of tat but jolly atmosphere.

Some of the things closed are castles, but not much else.

And the weather is very likely to be cold, maybe a bit of snow, so warm clothes are in order.

PS I don%26#39;t mean Prague castle, just other castles outside Prague, i.e. Cesky Krumlov! Apologies.

|||

I;m thinking of visiting Prague in January. Are things (e.g. castles in the countryside) closed then? I don%26#39; mind visiting in the cold and snow, but will I find things open?

Any recommendations for winter tourism?

Do you ski? :)

Most castles are closed in the winter, the closest castle Karlstejn will be open for a few days in the beginning of January, but then closed until the end of February. Have not checked any other castles except Cesky Krumlov which is also closed.
