Safe to check in luggage in train station and other question

Got a few questions about Prague....

1) I%26#39;ll arrive in Prague train station(Hlavni Nadr) from Budapest very early in the morning and plan to check in luggage at train station then see Charles bridge in the morning, how safe to check in luggage in train station?

2) Is the tap water in Prague safe to drink? and is it easy and where to find supermarket (any chain store) ?

3) How much expense should I budget per day in general both in Prague and Budapest (Hotel and train are pre-paid, I%26#39;m not very luxury person but would like to try local food/coffee/beer and little local souvenir maybe)

Please bear with me, I know some of questions are frequently asked, please provide your advices or point me to those thread that had discussed before, much appreciated!

1) There are plenty of left luggage lockers at the main station, if that is what you mean by %26#39;checking in%26#39; - you will need a few coins, though - I think it costs about 40 Crowns, but it will say on the inside.

2) Of course it is safe to drink, and there are plenty of supermarkets/grocerystores

3) For your purposes I reckon about 1000 Crowns/USD60 would be more than enough - I think Budapest would be about the same.

Steady on. old chap ... :)

About 10% more expensive than Budapest; small luggage is great for lockers. I would avoid Left Luggage Offices (big luggage) if they still exist; they close early %26amp; cost more.

There are some large lockers as well so as long as you haven%26#39;t got a trunk or a set of Louis Vuitton cases then you should have no trouble :)

I agree - avoid the left luggage offices. They have (had) funny opening hours and zero customer service skills.
