We have a Bank of America standard ATM card that only allows us to withdraw money from ATM machines. This is not a debit card and has neither a VISA nor Mastercard logo. Will we be able to use this card at the ATMs in the Prague airport? We also carry $$ and, in the event the ATM does not work, would like to know the best place to convert our money to Czech crowns. Thank you.

You`d better ask this at your bank. I think you can`t use it but don`t quote me on this

I must have some sort of logo, but an ATM machine is the same the world over. I agree - ask your bank!

I think your card will work but it appears that BOA will get you for a $5 fee in addition to an exchange rate fee (probably 3%). So plan on this if you use the card. Your BOA card should display one of the following logos on the back if it is to work in Prague on the International ATM network: Cirrus, Plus, or Maestro.
I used two different ATM/Visa/MC/Debit cards last week in Prague. Ended up 3.00% exchange rate fee with Chase Bank and 3.25% with Fifth Third Bank (total fees in comparison to exchange rates published on the internet that day).
As an aside, I was also able to negotiate 3% at any number of Western Union money exchange stations. I imagine the same strategy should work at any money exchange station. Just take the published rate on the internet (that day) and offer them 3% in their favor to exchange for crowns. Doesn%26#39;t really matter that they have on their sign or how much money you have to change. Tell them that you have XXX dollars and need xx.x% for it. I had success 3 of 4 times during $100-$200 exchanges. The 4th time we ultimately differed by only 0.1 (I hadn%26#39;t checked on line that day) and I ended up taking their offer. This is why I think the 3% is the minimum money they will readily accept on small amount exchanges. If you exchange much more, then you can expect a better rate (how much I don%26#39;t know).
