Janacek/River View/Theatre/Jungmann Apartments, help please!

Hi, I%26#39;ve seen a couple of older reviews, but has anyone any further info about the Janacek or River View Apartments please? Am thinking of booking them through www.prague-hotel.co.uk (any comments on them?), but not sure if they are close enough to all the usual attractions. We are taking my parents for their 40th Wedding Anniversary, but will also have our two very young daughters with us (11 and 2), we don%26#39;t mind walking a bit, but don%26#39;t want to be right on the outskirts and have to take trams everywhere. Has anyone any advice please? I also liked the look of the Theatre and Jungmann Apartments, but thought maybe the more central apartments would be too noisy from trams and bars etc and not as picturesque, the Janacek in particular looks beautiful (on the pictures anyway!).

Any advice would be massively appreciated, we are staying for 7 nights in late May/early June, I wanted an apartment with three seperate sleeping areas (the children can go in the living room on a sofa bed %26amp; cot if I can%26#39;t afford 3 bedrooms). I am paying for everyone, so can afford up to about £1400 for the entire week, but was hoping for less than £1200.

Sorry about rambling! Thanks for reading to the end!

I had a look at the website, and think that possibly the appartment in Janacek is a bit out of town with a small child. I also think you may have to cross the bridge to get the best tram connection, and it would be a walk with a pushchair on a busy road.

I would probably look for an appartment in the Old town even though it is more expensive.

Hi Jim,

I dont know if this is any use to you ,its in a great location on Hastalka and the gentleman that owns it is very nice and answered all my correspondence and the price is good too!

Ooh, that looks lovely, thanks Torii, thought I%26#39;d seen every apartment in Prague as I%26#39;ve spent that long looking! Thanks for the advice Penny, I had originally thought of the old town, but I have seen so many reports of noise and graffiti, that it had scared me off. Is it possible to be in the Old Town and still be in a quiet and pretty area? Is it more Wen Sq that is stag party orientated? I%26#39;m not quite such a misery as it sounds by the way, I just want it to be perfect for my parents%26#39; anniversary, kind of wish I%26#39;d just got them a box of chocs now, would have been easier :o)

Penny - didn%26#39;t realise it was a car bridge, thought it was a nice pretty foot bridge, so thanks for the warning!

I saw your comments about the Jazz Dinner cruise on the other thread Torii, I am going to book that for the actual night of their anniversary (I will hold you personally responsible for any problems)

By the way, I%26#39;m Ang, Jim is my other half, and this is to make him laugh if he googles any of the apartments I%26#39;ve been banging on at him to check! ;o)

Janacek apartments - this is on the assumption that the map of the hotel is correct, then the brige is busy all day. It is one of the most convenient places to cross from one side of town to the other side. So you can imagine.

Old Town away from Wenceslas Square can be very quiet, and Torii has a personal experience with Hastalska, so a very good suggestion.

Enjoy.

Hi Ang,

The location is quiet and it looks like the number of rooms meets your needs, they also have another 1 bedroom apartment in the same building.

As for the river cruise I have only been during the day so please dont hold me to account for the evening one Tee hee .Have you done a search on here about them I know a few people have been dissapointed with the food at night, just put river cruise in the above search box it should bring some threads up, if it changes your mind come back and ask for some more ideas.

Thank you both again! Torii, no point trying to avoid blame, Penny is my witness - it will all be your fault. I saw your thread because I had searched for people%26#39;s reviews on the cruise, I saw the negative reviews, but we%26#39;re not too bothered about the food side anyway (well, I am, but not my parents) I was a bit concerned by some people saying you can%26#39;t get very far because it is too busy/the boats don%26#39;t fit under the bridges, but it comes in at only £130-ish for all of us, so thought it was worth the risk as it sounds lovely. (I%26#39;m trying to be very well-behaved and not ask things that have been posted elsewhere ;o) )

HI - I will be a witness, it is in my diary already...(she probably has been but cannot remember if you know what I mean, LOL)

Thanks you two!!!!hee heeheee

Well, I emailed about Abbot%26#39;s Apartment, got a very quick response from the owner, Robin, he was lovely and very helpful. Think I am going to book it, it%26#39;s a lot smaller than the others I was looking at, but the location seems perfect, and it looks very pretty (it%26#39;s 70sq mt, against the others of 110-140 sq mt, however, as I lack any spatial awareness, that doesn%26#39;t mean a great deal to me). Have been googling trying to find reviews of it, but nothing%26#39;s turned up, so if anyone should see anything, please do let me know.

There%26#39;s a lot of responsibility resting on your shoulders now Torii . . . . ;o)

Hi Ang

I told you he was a nice man , I think it will be fine for you, did you enquire about the ajoining apartment for your parents or will you be happy with just the one?And do you mind me asking what price you have been quoted?

We were going to stay there but had to change our plans as our party size increased ,so I will be very interested to hear all about it when you get back as I would eventually like to stay there.
