Has anyone stayed at the Melantrich apartments before and can you tell me if they are comfortable and is it a nice and safe area to stay in?

The are is not bad but it`s not the best either. I won`t call it unsafe but it`s definately not nice (esp at night)

i`ve used this agency a few times and stayed at http://www.pragueholiday.cz/principe.php. Nice clean and confortable. But at my last visit i had some problems with the agency. We had reserved a apartment at the above building and agreed to pay the following day When we arrived we were taken to another apartment and asked to pay at the check in which was an inssue cause we didn`t carry that much money on us and planned on withdrawing from an atm..... The worst thing was that i was in touch with them till a few hours before the take off and they didn`t mention anything about the changes

If I remember correctly there is a nightclub adjacent to the apartments,if you read the thread on harrasment this is the area in the OP, perfectly ok during the day but the hub of nightime activity,we have stayed on the square at the Rokoko and the Jalta we didnt and never have had any problems and it is very convenient for the shops.

Torii is correct, the hotel is between Ve Smeckach and Vodickova, not the best area in the evening.

If it is any help, we used Prague-Stay www.prague-stay.com and were very pleased with them. They have a range of apts of different sizes, I think all are in central locations.
