Our trip report :)

Hi!

We went to Prague last Wednesday morning (stayed at the *** Vltava Rez U Prahy, VERY nice food, nice staff and clean spacious rooms) and when crossing the border in Germany it started raining - it first stopped raining when we got back to Denmark on Sunday :(

We had a really nice trip. On Thursday we went to Karlstejn Castle which was absolutely stunning. The staff at the Restaurant Koruna was very friendly and quick :)

Friday we decided to go to the concentration camp in Terezin - which turned out a mess :( The bus station is a bad memory for us due to lack of information and a rude lady working at the information desk. Instead of going to Theresienstadt we went shopping at Rivertown Market - a success!!! :)

We got the impression that the Czech ppl are very nice and friendly and very willing to help if help or advice is needed.

We had only one bad experience in Prag: we ate at the restaurant La Scala located right to the Tyn church. the waiters were very rude and simply ignored us when we asked if our meals were ready, after placing our order. We had to ask the wait 40 minutes before getting our meals - and the guests sitting next to us got theirs right away; we got there at the same time and ordered the same meals. Nice surroundings but poor waiting :(

We will definitely go to Prague again :))))

I forgot to say that we used the metro several times a day - very convenient and easy - and had no experiences with pick-pockets, muggers, rude ppl or the like. Prague is such a lovely city!!! :)

So glad you enjoyed your trip even though you had the misshap with the bus station ..you will have to go back!

I have been to La Scala but only sat outside for a coffee but things like that are very annoying.

Some advice on further trip: While travelling to Terezin, it is even better to get the train from Rez. Just cross the river there like on your way to Prague, but go the other direction. At Kralupy (about 20 minutes) there very good connections to the fast trains from Prague to Decin every 2nd hour, which stop about 2 km from Terezin (in Bohusovice). It is probably even faster than going via Prague by bus (which is slightly faster from Prague). Look at the map, it should be obvious.
