Hi all
We are staying at hotel Inos next week. I have been trying to read up about transport- I understand the instructions to get to the hotel (from their website):
Take the bus 100, get off in the terminal station %26quot;Zličín%26quot;.
Change for the metro line %26quot;B%26quot; and continue to the station %26quot;Karlovo náměstí%26quot;. From there take the tram 3, 16, 17 or 21 (52 in the night) and get off at the station %26quot;Podolská vodárna%26quot;.
But my questions are as follows:
1. if we buy the 100Kc 24 hour ticket, do we use it to get us on the 100bus and the journey to the hotel or does the 100 bus have a different fare?
2. is the ticket valid for 24hours from purchase to the next day, or is it a day ticket ie it expires at midnight?
3. does it need to be validated on trams and metros- is it a paper ticket or a card?
thanks if you can help!

personally, I would not bother with the 24 hr ticket; most of the time you walk or take short trips. Anyway - all your questions are answered here:

You can buy either single tickets or the day pass in the arrival hall at Ruzyne airport (Public transport kiosk). The ticket or the pass will need to be stamped on the bus (either 100 or 119) - look what other people are doing.
26Kc ticket is valid on any transport (including the airport bus) for 75 minutes and does not need to be validated again as you change to metro or tram.
The day ticket will be valid for 24 hours from the second (:)) you stamp it in the first transport. The tickets of either kind are of the paper variety.
I looked at the hotel instructions, and either options are good. Bear in mind that you will need to walk up the hill from Podolska Vodarna, so hopefully you will not have heavy luggage.
As to whether the day pass is worth having, perhaps buy just for one day to see if it is worth it. But you will not be walking to/from town, its a bit too far.

Forgot to mention, if you go via Karlovo namesti, take the Palackeho namesti exit - that is right on the embankment and the tram stop.

people ought to be careful with links they post, they are not all up to date

Re: http://www.praha.eu/jnp/en/home/index.html
some very current info - click on right hand side about corrupt taxi drivers..
updated October 15th, 2009 not that old..
Anyway, most travellers check several different websites to get up-to-date info.,
we mainly check if the links work %26amp; if it is useful. From private messages I rec%26#39;d most of my advice is well received.. But thanks anyway; at least I know about it %26amp; can let people know....

Sophie, you are certainly very helpful, I am curious though, you say %26quot;we mainly check if the links work%26quot; Could you elaborate on the %26quot;we%26quot; bit?

OIC, do you all post under Sophie 0811? I ask only because a simple Google search of %26quot;Sophie 0811%26quot; shows hundreds of posts on quite a variety of different message boards. We certainly appreciate all the help we can get here but I think just posting loads of links with sometimes outdated and/or contradictory information just confuses readers. I do not post a lot but when I do I like to think I give a concise answer ;-)
