Planning a midwinter vacation. Only have time to visit two cities in Central Europe. Which two would you choose: Prague, Munich, Vienna, or Budapest?
|||
How long have you got, and where are you flying to and from?
|||
I like Prague %26amp; Budapest; depending on your time schedule you could do all 4...

#1: I have about 5-6 days in total to spend. Flying in from London and returning there (for long-haul connection to Asia).

In that case you can only do 2 cities. Perhaps Vienna %26amp; Prague. I would suggest reading other Czech forums, then post in the other ones, as well. Also look at some links to maps. Decide which city interests you most, then check distances, mode of travel, etc. E.g. if you really want to see Vienna %26amp; spend most of your time there, Budapest, as well as Bratislava or Brno are not too far.

First I would say Prague without question. Then, I would say Vienna or Budapest. Vienna is quite wonderful and has culture and musuems and wonderful food and it%26#39;s western europe and you will have to deal with the euro...and it%26#39;s price point. Budapest however is nice and has a lower price point but there is a difference between eastern and western europe. That being said, I think if I had not been to any of these cities, I would go with Prague and Vienna.

Is your five days including the days you will spend in London transferring? Will you be flying to Prague from the same airport that you flew in to from Asia? If not then it can be an almighty hassle and expense getting from one %26#39;London%26#39; airport to another.
If you choose Prague and you really want to see another of those cities, then Vienna, but consider that it takes at least 4 hours to travel between the two places - ticket here https:/… €19
The two cities that are nearest to each other are Vienna and Budapest so logistically that would make more sense if you want to see two.
If I were you I would choose just one of them, and for that you can toss a coin...
