The most tourists would prefer to stay in the vicinity of the Old Town Square, or in the area across Charles Bridge (Mala Strana)basically Prague 1.
Andel is not far from the centre, a couple of metro stops.

For your hotel, how much are you willing to pay for a night? I always prefer to buy the best room in a lower class hotel, than a cheap room in an expensive hotel.
Look at K+K Central, or Designer Josef, Savic or any hotels suggested by the above website. Look at the reviews and come back with your options.

Depending on your interests and how close you want to be to the main tourist areas, I would suggest the Hotel Anna in the Vinohrady area which is a short walk to public transportation and a 15-20 minute walk to Wenceslas Square. It%26#39;s a very clean, well maintained hotel with a great staff. Moreover, you%26#39;re out of the tourist areas so it%26#39;s a better value. There are also some very good Czech restaurants nearby. My wife and I stayed there last month and were not disappointed. You can read my Tripadvisor review that was recently posted for more specific details.

There is an andel%26#39;s hotel and hotel andel%26#39;s both close to each other so be careful when booking. I stayed in hotel andel%26#39;s the first time I went to prague and walked in to the tourist area each day, as far as I remember it took around 20-30 mins walk. It was good as I got to see parts of the city I wouldn%26#39;t have seen other wise, however since then I have preferred to stay closer to the tourist areas - it all depends on what you are looking for from your trip.

Check out the Castle Steps in Mala Strana. We stayed there this summer and loved it! Castlesteps.com ... it was my third time to the city but the first time I%26#39;ve fully enjoyed my accommodations. Have a wonderful trip!
