My wife and I just returned from a six-day bike trip from Prague to Dresden. It was a self-guided tour, through the Greenways Travel Club based in the Czech Republic. Greenways provided the bikes, maps, a GPS, cell phone, and transported our luggage from hotel to hotel. The towns from Prague to Dresden were Melnik, Litomerice, Decin, and Bad Schandau.
The navigation was a little bit tricky, but quite do-able. If you are uncertain as to whether you can find you way, rest assured; you can do it. The whole trip was great fun. We were lucky with the weather, which was fabulous throughout.
The legs of the trip are short enough (15 to 39 miles) that there is time enough for site seeing and side trips. My wife and I are both quite fit, but we are in our fifties and do not ride our bikes regularly at home other than to get around town.
Other than in Prague and Dresden, we did the most in-town site-seeing in Melnik, visiting the cathedral and castle. Side trips included Tierzen and hiking up to see the natural bridge.
The bikes were of good quality and held up well. The luggage was always right on time, and the hotels were easy to find and high quality.
The company provided a lot of flexibility in the self-guided trip. We added extra nights in Prague, but we didn%26#39;t need a hotel in Dresden, because we were staying with friends. Neither the extra nights in Prague nor not wanting a hotel in Dresden was the least problem.
I would give the company high marks for its support.

What a cool trip -- thank you for sharing! I have heard of that company. Would love to take a biking vacation -- I%26#39;ll file that one away for when I have some vacation built up again. :-)

Wonderful report; you must be really fit... I know quite a few people who bike from Liberec/Zittau/Dresden, but I can%26#39;t imagine doing it from Prague...
I am surprised nobody commented....I guess we are all lazy...
