Beware the Hotels - Evening river cruises.

Advertised as evening dinner %26amp; live Jazz for

3hrs at a cost of £50 each. The Hotel takes a commision.

Result - Buffet food was basically a ham and cheese breakfast + hotdog, pasta, salads, a 7inch plate provided %26amp; Strudel to finish. Drinks extra - Cheap Merlot at £16 a bottle with a small beer at

£2.60.

The jazz was not good.

a fair few of our clients have taken the jazzboat and liked it thus we like to recommend it! I would hate to hear bad things about it...

It doesn%26#39;t sound like the same thing does it? I mean the menu on the website bears no comparison to the ham %26amp; cheese mentioned in the original post.

Elena the person that posted this review of the jazzboat has only posted this one time and this makes me very suspicious,Pivo who runs a business in Prague says he recommends this cruise to customers ,so if I was you I would go ahead and try it ,but if you can book it directly so the hotel does not take a cut of the money!

Then when you come back let us know what you thought.

It used to be that the hotel got the commission from the service provider, thus the price you pay was the same as booking directly, sometimes even slightly lower if the hotel was able (and willing) to negotiate better price based on the volume of the guests they send. Anyone knows if the practice is the same? Have been out of Czech last 7 years.

I have not been to Prague yet, planning to go in September. My feeling about these boat cruises whether in Boston or Copenhagen or wherever is one has to decide which of the elements is important: food, view or music/dance? One cannot have all three generally.I tend to go for the views and spend my meal money elsewhere.I would never pay a higher fee for music figuring I would rather go to a place meant for music. In summary just view the boat trip for what it really is - a trip on the water to give a different perspective of the views and pay accordingly.
