Hi everyone
We%26#39;re off to Prague, (four adults, over 50%26#39;s,. but feel like twenty year olds!) for New Year%26#39;s Eve and wondering if there is a need to pre book a restaurant for the evening?
We were in this wonderful city in April and trying to be clever, I tried to book the Cafe Louvre, (which we thought was excellent) for New Year%26#39;s Eve, but unfortunately it%26#39;s already full! Will most nice (and reasonably priced) restaurants also be full?
I%26#39;ve noticed on the net that some are giving a fixed price for the evening, including meal and drinks, which I thought was expensive?
We just want to chill out have a nice meal and then move on to the pubs before midnight. Can anyone recommend some restaurants, similar in price to the Cafe Louvre, preferably with an email address or phone number?
Many thanks in advance.

Hi Torri
Thanks for your quick response. I%26#39;ve seen this website, average of £70 each, rather expensive I thought? As I said in the post, just want a meal, not really interested in entertainment.......

you should defnitly book, but my rec is to stay away from new years at restaurants in prague- really overpriced and overcrowded...
If you go, i would suggest Kabul- an amazing restaurant for very cheap prices

Some people have an early meal and then go pubbing it, however most pubs will be full, and the restaurants charge silly prices as its new years eve and try to keep you at their establishments all evening.

Here is somewhere Martina has recommended in the past.

On New Year%26#39;s Eve, most restaurants have New Year%26#39;s Eve parties, just getting a normal meal on New Year%26#39;s Eve isn%26#39;t simple
Eat your main meal at lunchtime it will be cheaper than in the evening, you will be spoilt for choice where to drink just check out the bars beforehand and check they are not having parties which can work out expensive.
Then at midnight watch the fireworks anywhere down by the river,
Crowds can be hectic and overwhelming so staying on the castle side of the river is safer-Manesuv bridge is safer than Charles Bridge, but you need to watch for unofficial fireworks being launched anywhere on the street
There is also a display at the Letna park at 7pm on New years day.

Hi,
these posts have also been of interest to me as we%26#39;re arriving in Prague New Year%26#39;s Eve morning and weren%26#39;t planning on booking a table for evening meal before getting there. If the worst comes to the worst I suppose we could always eat evening meal at the hotel and then do a pub crawl.

A few years a go we booked a restaurant on the river new years eve, and at midnight watched the fireworks from the restaurant balcony, having a snowball fight with the people on the pleasure boats, wonderful time, but cost an arm and a leg lol??,
when we do it new years eve again, think we would either eat in the hotel ,or eat mid afternoon and then hit the pubs, dont forget , to see the fireworks at the river get there early, because 000s watch it,
